Our History
With the founding of Eastlake at the turn of the 20th century, the town soon found the need to have its own community church. The First Congregational Church held its first services in 1914 in the room over the Eastlake pool hall. As attendance grew, it became apparent that a more permanent church building was needed so funds were raised, a church was built, and the first church service in our church building was held on June 13, 1915.
Over the years, our church has had over 30 pastors and has made many improvements such as upgrading the furnace from coal to hot water heat, adding a fellowship hall and kitchen, and installing an elevator. Our church members are active in community and missionary projects that spread the word of our faith. In 1957, the church joined the United Church of Christ - a protestant denomination founded by a merger of the Congregational Christian Church and the Evangelical and Reformed Church.

Who We Are
We are a church of all age groups and we strive to serve each and every one - regardless of age. We have a children's message that is a part of our weekly worship service and we offer special Sunday School programs to study topics relevant to our faith and current events. Our music program enhances our worship experience and includes a Chancel Choir, Bell Choir, and special occasion Children's Choir. Fellowship is a big part of our church life and we enjoy many activities such as potluck meals, field trips, movie nights, and dancing. Additional opportunities for children and youth include confirmation classes, summer church camp at La Foret Camp, vacation bible school and an Easter egg hunt.
